Dow designed the "largest courthouse between Chicago and Denver," which was completed in 1893. The courthouse was built with native Sioux Quartzite with stunning interior features such as slate stairs, granite pillars, and a series of 16 murals depicting life in South Dakota during the early 1900s. Hours at Old Courthouse Museum are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays (with extended hours until 9 p.m. Thursday), 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free for all ages.
